Identify a problem, issue, or concern—mostly work-related—and propose a study to further investigate the problem. This is a deliberate research study that proposes recommendations after the problem is investigated.

You can use existing data, conduct a survey, or use focus groups to collect data on a topic, analyze data, report findings, and provide recommendations. An Institutional Review Board (IRB) package may be needed.
